Frustrating healthcare system leaves patient in despair

The booking process at this clinic is incredibly frustrating. Last week, I was informed via phone that routine appointments aren't available for booking. I struggled to complete their online form and was advised to call the next morning if unable to submit it. When I felt better the following day, I hesitated to request an appointment during a relatively good period. This week, my non-emergency condition has worsened, so I completed an e-consult (which is challenging when you're unwell and dealing with a disability). After their appointment slots were allocated, they sent a message through the NHS app asking me to book a routine appointment in three weeks - contradicting what I was previously told about their system. I called desperately seeking earlier medical advice due to my deteriorating health and was instructed to submit another e-consult, with the warning that unless it's a cardiovascular emergency, my best option is morning phone calls. It seems they expect patients to endure extreme discomfort, potentially waiting in a hospital during a heatwave for something that could be resolved in a brief GP consultation. I'm fortunate I had the NHS app and noticed their message; otherwise, I would have waited all day, having been awake since 7am trying to prepare myself for a clinic visit while struggling to leave my bed for weeks. I'm utterly devastated. I'm starting to believe maintaining health in this country is futile, and there's a strange comfort in surrendering.
