Frustrating healthcare system with unhelpful receptionists

Calling daily at 8am only to be informed about an appointment a month away, yet unable to schedule it in advance, is utterly ridiculous and completely impractical for those of us who begin work at that time. The receptionist is particularly unhelpful and seems inappropriate for a healthcare setting. This practice is creating additional pressure on the local healthcare system, as I'll now need to take my mother to the out-of-hours service at Cannock Hospital just to receive medical attention - and I'm certain other frustrated patients will do the same. It's truly disappointing because the actual medical staff, including nurses and doctors, are quite excellent.
