Frustrating healthcare with moments of helpful support

I have mixed feelings about this practice. They've been supportive during critical times, but getting through on the phone is incredibly frustrating, and booking appointments seems impossible. My experience after leaving the hospital following a heart attack was particularly challenging. Obtaining medication was a nightmare, with reception staff claiming I'd already received a prescription, which wasn't true. I had hospital meds for two weeks and had submitted my discharge papers. I was constantly shuttling between the surgery and the chemist (interestingly, it was Sue at the chemist who initially raised concerns). When I returned to reception, they casually explained that the system date was the last issue date - which makes no sense. Why not include a start date? Attempting to get an appointment was ridiculous. They told me I wasn't on the emergency list and would have to go without heart medication for four days. Thankfully, I contacted the hospital, and they resolved the prescription issue quickly - which shouldn't have been so complicated. I'm also perplexed that despite having 5-6-7 doctors, the surgery often operates with just one doctor, frequently a locum. Their scheduling needs serious improvement. However, I must acknowledge that some staff are genuinely helpful and communicate clearly.
