Frustrating medical booking experience with zero help

I recently attempted to schedule a medical consultation by phone, only to be informed that booking directly was not an option and I must visit the GP in person. When I shared that I had already spent 20 minutes trying to arrange an appointment through the doctors' surgery reception, I was met with no helpful solution. Subsequently, I wasted another 30 minutes figuring out that I needed to use the surgery's specific website—not the NHS site—to request an appointment. The entire process was unnecessarily complicated and far more convoluted than simply calling and having a receptionist book the appointment for me.
