Frustrating medical care for son's ongoing health issues

My 45-year-old son underwent surgery a few months back for a discolored leg. The physician ordered blood tests for a condition (which I hope I've spelled correctly), and the nurse attempted to contact him by phone four times. Each call went unanswered because he recognized the mobile number, so he requested they use our landline. Subsequently, they ceased all communication. On Saturday, June 3rd, I brought him to the emergency room due to bleeding from his navel. He received a blood test and awaited the results. The doctor informed him to consult his primary care physician on Monday for potential scans. Upon contacting his doctor, he was told no follow-up was necessary since the hospital had discharged him. Our family is deeply frustrated by this response. Considering he experienced two bleeding episodes - one in March and another on Saturday - while actively bleeding in a puddle before medical staff, this dismissive approach seems entirely inappropriate.
