Frustrating medical records request with poor service

I'm attempting to obtain medical documentation for my elderly mother, who recently underwent surgery, after promptly completing the necessary paperwork. Initially, I was assured processing would occur the following day. However, after a 10-day delay, I'm now informed that additional documentation is required, including my mother's signature and identification, with a total processing time of 28 days. I'm uncertain whether this represents a training deficiency or simply an overwhelmed system, but it clearly demonstrates significant communication and procedural shortcomings. When I questioned the extended timeline, the representative became defensive and unprofessionally suggested that I should work there to understand their workload, which struck me as a completely inappropriate and unhelpful response. The entire experience has been frustrating and lacks the customer service one would expect in handling sensitive medical information.
