Frustrating nhs appointment system wastes precious time

I initiated contact using two different phones to schedule an appointment, and after persistent calling, I finally entered the queue at 8:03. After waiting 15 minutes, which stretched to a total of 1 hour and 5 minutes, I was informed that no appointments were available today (Friday). I find this completely incomprehensible and frustrating. As a heart patient with a pacemaker, this experience is unacceptable. I am deeply dissatisfied with this NHS system and intend to escalate this matter to the health secretary. They need to address these systemic failures immediately. The whole situation is utterly ridiculous and unbelievable.
