Frustrating phone lines and unhelpful reception staff

I've recently registered with this practice and the phone line situation is absolutely frustrating! Getting through is nearly impossible, forcing me to physically walk to the surgery just to secure an appointment. A referral was supposedly made 5 months ago from another Trust, and today I discovered from the receptionist that no letter had been received, despite previously discussing this with a GP who had assured me the referral would happen. A message to the receptionist: you are not a medical professional, your job is simply to book my appointment with a GP for this urgent matter, and please check your attitude at the door. If I do not receive communication from the GP within the 2 working days specified on their website, I will definitely be filing a complaint with PALS. It's truly disappointing because the GPs themselves are wonderful, but there are clearly significant problems with the administrative systems and processes.
