Frustrating phone system ruins potential good medical care

The medical professionals here are excellent, but reaching them by phone is a nightmare. Their line perpetually redirects to an automated message about the Ask my GP service, which plays on an endless loop. After enduring this repetitive recording approximately 20 times, I inevitably get frustrated and disconnect after wasting 15 minutes. The Ask my GP service is utterly ineffective—unless you attempt contact extremely early in the morning, it claims to be closed and blocks any appointment request.
