Frustrating phone system with rare helpful staff

The phone system is utterly inadequate. Consistently, there are prolonged waiting times, preceded by a recorded message about Ask My GP, which fails to address all appointment needs. Then the waiting begins! In my most recent experience, I endured over an hour before being abruptly disconnected and forced to redial, only to find myself eleventh in the queue! To their credit, the staff are invariably apologetic and incredibly supportive. That is, when you finally manage to reach them! The Ask My GP service itself, however, is commendable.
