Frustrating prescription delay puts health at risk

I wanted to express my frustration regarding a recent interaction with your medical practice. I accidentally misplaced some of my regular medication (which I later located), and when I tried to request an early refill, I encountered a series of complications. The situation became perplexing when the NHS app indicated the GP had approved my prescription, yet the pharmacy had no corresponding record. Upon reaching out to the GP reception, I was initially told the prescription would be ready the following day. However, a subsequent phone conversation revealed that the medication would not be available until three days later, as originally scheduled. The prescription was ultimately issued on its final expected day, but by then I had already exhausted my existing supply. Additionally, the pharmacy requires processing time, which meant I was left without my essential blood pressure medication for multiple days. This experience has raised serious concerns about the potential health risks if my blood pressure were to spike during such a medication gap. I am seeking clarity on how these types of situations are handled and what preventative measures could be implemented to avoid similar disruptions in the future. I appreciate your consideration of this matter.
