Frustrating receptionist gatekeeping ruins healthcare experience

Since when did receptionists become medical experts!? Every time you ring, these staff now have the audacity to inquire, "What symptoms are you experiencing?" I phoned to communicate directly with a Doctor, not an unqualified individual - please stop obstructing patient care! The General Practitioners are equally culpable - rather than engaging with patients directly, they're choosing to remain sequestered behind closed doors, resulting in straightforward patient concerns being redirected to A&E (as in my case) because receptionists are arbitrarily determining these issues as "non-urgent"...! To compound the frustration, they attempt to deflect by suggesting you download the 'Libby' app to consult an 'online GP' - this is transparently moving towards NHS privatization... What exactly are our tax contributions funding...!? I'm seriously considering changing healthcare providers. ******LATEST UPDATE****** I telephoned and endured a 1hr 25minute wait before connecting with someone. Upon joining the "queue" I was 8th in line; that's more than 10 minutes per patient, clearly you need additional telephone staff? Let me be crystal clear, I have zero interest in your 'Libby App' services, I pay my taxes to consult a Doctor at the surgery, not engage with a third-party app and an anonymous representative.
