Frustrating rx runaround all afternoon long

I was given a prescription by my doctor for a medication that's been discontinued. When I followed up the next day, they told me the GP would send an alternative and to call back at 1pm. Upon calling back, I was instructed to call again at 3. When I called at 3:30, a staff member rudely informed me that's not their process and provided absolutely no assistance whatsoever.
