Frustrating telephone triage fails working patients

I'm baffled why this practice continues to rely on telephone triage when even hospitals are returning to standard operations. My husband works in a factory and can't constantly be tethered to his phone, waiting for a brief 5-minute call. When I attempt to inform the receptionists about his break times so he might actually answer, they're incredibly uncooperative, causing him to repeatedly miss these calls. While I understand doctors can't always provide exact appointment times, why not revert to the previous system where patients could schedule consultations at convenient times? Their current approach shows zero consideration for working individuals who have limited flexibility during the day.
