Frustrating wait for a February appointment

The medical professionals here are top-notch, and the front desk team can be pleasant if you approach them courteously, but there's a clear communication breakdown between the clinical and administrative staff. After consulting with a GP in November, I was instructed to call at the end of January to schedule a February appointment, with specific guidance to inform reception that the doctor wanted to see me during her typically available morning or early evening slots. Upon calling today, I was abruptly informed that no appointments exist until March. (It's January 30th) When I explained the doctor's explicit instructions and the need for a follow-up in February, the reception staff flatly refused. It's incredibly exasperating - I understand the reception staff have responsibilities, but when a physician specifically directs a patient to book an appointment on a particular date for a designated month, they should facilitate that request. It feels as though the doctor anticipated potential administrative obstacles. The era of personalized, patient-focused family healthcare has clearly come to an end.
