Frustrating wait for father's GTN prescription

I am thoroughly dissatisfied with the substandard medical care my elderly father has recently received from the Tudor practice surgery. With a history of angina, my father relies on GTN (Glyceryl trinitrate) and must always carry this medication. Previously, he had negotiated pausing his repeat prescription due to having sufficient medication, with the understanding he would contact the surgery when more was needed. However, he has spent the past fortnight unsuccessfully attempting to schedule an appointment with a GP or nurse to reinstate this prescription. He has repeatedly endured lengthy waiting times, and when finally connecting with staff, he has been consistently informed that no appointments are available and was dismissively told to "go to A&E if it's an emergency". I find it completely inappropriate for a non-medical receptionist to arbitrarily determine what constitutes a medical emergency. When he eventually secured a GP appointment, he felt the doctor had not thoroughly reviewed his medical history and appeared dismissive. The GP incorrectly claimed the medication had been discontinued and refused to reinstate the prescription, forcing my father to contact 111 to obtain his essential medication. For a 70-year-old man, this entire experience has been incredibly distressing and unacceptable.
