Frustrating weekend but nurse saves the day

I rarely complain about medical services, but after enduring a weekend of intense gastrointestinal distress and desperately seeking guidance, I called at 7:59 AM only to find all appointments were already booked—how is this even possible??!! I did eventually connect with a nurse clinician, and I genuinely appreciate the challenges facing the NHS, especially given my sister's 30-year background as a specialist nurse in Worcester. However, the 111 service failed to handle our calls, leaving us extremely anxious throughout the entire weekend. Surely it should be feasible to ensure basic call coverage at the very least. On Tuesday, December 20th, following three challenging weeks, I consulted Marianne since no GP was available. I cannot praise her highly enough, and I'm already feeling significantly more optimistic—thank you.
