Grateful yet frustrated with nhs healthcare service

I've been contemplating writing this review for years, finally feeling compelled to share my experience with deep appreciation for the opportunity. This account reflects my grandmother's healthcare journey, which I've been managing for 8 years. I'm appreciative when someone responds within 20 minutes. I'm thankful for polite communication. I'm grateful when I don't have to convince increasingly dismissive telephonists about the urgency of my call. Clearly, I wouldn't contact them if it weren't important. I'm hopeful that repeat prescriptions could be promptly sent to the pharmacy. My expectations are modest. I consider myself reasonable, yet we're made to feel like an inconvenience simply by seeking assistance. The service quality is shockingly poor. How did things deteriorate so dramatically? I'm hesitant to voice criticism, fearing potential consequences for my grandmother's medical care. I've even witnessed a courteous young man being labeled "far right" for challenging receptionist behavior. What is happening to our healthcare system? It's high time we stop treating the NHS as an untouchable institution and implement meaningful reforms. People are paralyzed by fear of speaking out against substandard service! Deeply frustrated, but what alternatives do we have?
