Heartbreaking failure in dementia and end of life care

Horrific treatment of our elderly mother during her dementia journey. The frailty team was completely absent, refusing to provide any palliative or end-of-life care, even on her final day. Their approach was cold, indifferent, and largely unavailable. The attending physician who arrived during her final moments verbally berated us about an outdated Respect form while our mother struggled to breathe, then simply departed. We were left to manage her death entirely on our own. Holly's standard response perfectly illustrates the 'care' delivered by Birchwood. I strongly recommend examining the CQC report's 'Needs Improvement' rating and the 2.9 patient feedback, and actually implementing meaningful changes. Their contact number merely redirects to a website - utterly useless now that my mother has passed. Birchwood's primary concern seemed to be repeatedly requesting DNR and Respect forms. Modality's widespread reputation for poor service, backed by government petitions and complaints, suggests a systemic 'profit over patient' approach. If Birchwood wishes to distinguish itself from other practices, they must start prioritizing patient welfare.
