Heartless surgery destroys loyal patient's healthcare hope

I've been unceremoniously removed from The Village Surgery, a practice I've been associated with since 1997, simply because we relocated a mere 160 metres beyond our previous address. Utterly disappointed by the team's rigid adherence to this policy, which isn't even mandated by the NHS. I've been compelled to register with a significantly inferior and overcrowded GP practice that appears more like a digital interface, with numerous links to subpar technological solutions that have effectively replaced human interaction. Meanwhile, The Village Surgery continues to restrict their appointment availability, seemingly never recovering to their pre-covid service standards. The perpetually vacant waiting room and doctors dressed in casual attire suggest a part-time, semi-private, remote-work approach. They're undoubtedly eager to accept new patients while ruthlessly removing long-standing patients without consideration. After years of satisfaction and familiarity with this surgery, I'm now left in a healthcare wasteland, all because of an inconsequential 160-metre distance shift. Their treatment of long-term patients is disgracefully callous. To add insult to injury, they even mentioned removing patients undergoing palliative end-of-life care for similar reasons, citing out-of-area home visits as justification - home visits that are practically extinct nowadays. Absolutely ludicrous! Their lack of professional discretion is astounding. It seems more financially advantageous to carelessly redistribute patient care based on administrative technicalities, even during end-of-life scenarios. I'm deeply concerned for our elderly population if this is the current healthcare approach. Let me be explicit: this is entirely the practice's decision. The NHS website clearly states practices can consider patient application requests, even when out of area. They possess the authority but choose to disregard loyal patients. The Village Surgery isn't powerless; they're simply paying lip service to their supposed constraints. What a disappointment. Instead of maintaining their integrity and service quality, they've opted to deteriorate alongside the broader decline of accessible NHS services. How could I possibly recommend this surgery to anyone? We've been monumentally betrayed. I strongly advise avoiding this surgery at all costs. The Village Surgery no longer prioritizes patient care and will readily dismiss you if your circumstances marginally change.
