Helpful doctors but rude receptionist ruins experience

The medical staff here are consistently excellent - compassionate, skilled, and self-assured in their roles. I always feel at ease when interacting with them. I typically prefer using the NHS app over phone calls, and today I sent a message regarding a blood test appointment at NMH. Their response directed me to call the medical centre to schedule an appointment at another facility since the original number was unresponsive. Although phone calls typically trigger my anxiety, I knew I had to make this appointment. After waiting in the queue, the receptionist's demeanor was incredibly off-putting. Her dismissive attitude and exasperated "Oh god" were unhelpful. I was simply following the instructions I'd been given. While I understand that staff might receive numerous trivial calls, her conduct was unacceptable. To those working in customer-facing roles: please exercise more patience with people seeking assistance. It was only 9 AM, and I recognize the job can be challenging, but when someone reaches out for help, they should be supported, not treated like an inconvenience. Kindness matters, especially since you never know what personal struggles someone might be experiencing behind their call.
