Horrible service putting patients at unnecessary risk

I visited the medical center to collect a blood form for my quadriplegic daughter. A prominent sign instructed patients to wear masks to protect staff, which I always do to safeguard my child. Unexpectedly, the receptionist harshly demanded I remove my mask, claiming she is deaf and relies on lip reading. Against my better judgment, I complied. Her colleague sitting nearby mockingly chuckled. Another elderly patient was similarly instructed to remove her mask, and proceeded to cough extensively. I've been unwell for a week, fortunately not with covid again. I subsequently emailed the surgery, and after a week, they bizarrely responded that the situation was my fault, stating they can't enforce mask-wearing (despite the old lady actually wearing a mask). The deaf receptionist's claim of lip-reading seems dubious, especially understanding accented speech. Even more concerning is that the practice manager, not the GP, decides on critical medical treatments for vulnerable patients like my daughter. When she contracted covid, she was denied essential medication. We were forced to seek private treatment, and thankfully she survived - something that wouldn't have happened had we relied on this practice's judgment.
