Ignored with dangerous stage 3 hypertension

If I could give zero stars, I would! The reception staff are incredibly unhelpful, seemingly set the tone by an equally dismissive and insincere practice manager. Booking an appointment is a nightmare, with waiting times stretching to 4-5 weeks, especially if you want to see your specific GP. A pharmacist next door flagged my critically high blood pressure (144/100) and sent me to the surgery with stage 3 hypertension - a first for me. The receptionist was completely disinterested, barely acknowledging the pharmacist's note and refusing to pass it to a doctor. Only a paramedic's intervention enabled me to see a physician, who then made light of my condition with a flippant comment about hypothetical axe-wielding intruders causing blood pressure spikes. The GP contradicted the British Heart Foundation cardiac nurse, dismissing my symptoms' connection to high blood pressure and, a week later, has made no effort to explain the cause or schedule a follow-up. Hands down the most appalling NHS service I have ever experienced.
