Impersonal gps making patients feel like numbers

I recognize the practice is hectic, but most of the general practitioners here lack a personal touch. I was informed I only have a 5-minute slot, so I should just get on with it!! You're merely a number here, where no one genuinely cares, and complaining is futile as they always support each other. Most GPs are hesitant to refer patients for additional tests or examinations. They fail to comprehend the significant bureaucratic hurdles involved in securing an initial appointment, so why would someone go through such trouble if nothing were amiss? The patient is aware something is not right. Retraining is essential for both GPs and receptionists. After five years, nothing has changed as of 2025. Appointment availability remains low, with the online calendar showing slots three weeks in advance. This surgery relies excessively on locum doctors.
