Impossible to book appointments without calling at dawn

We have been patients at this GP practice for nearly 7 years and have become increasingly frustrated with the difficulty in securing appointments, even when calling at the earliest opportunity in the morning. We have not developed any meaningful connection with the clinical team, as we have had no consistent contact with the same practitioners. During a recent visit, a healthcare professional suggested I arrange a follow-up appointment with a GP to arrange some routine blood work based on concerns I had raised. When I approached the reception desk to request an appointment within a reasonable timeframe, I was informed that advance bookings were not possible and that I would need to call on the day to secure a slot. This contradicted what I had been told previously. This approach creates significant challenges for working patients who need to provide their employers with notice of medical appointments. There appears to be no provision for booking non-urgent but clinically necessary appointments in advance. This has been a notably different experience compared to other practices we have used.
