Inflexible appointment system wasted my time

I required an appointment for a medical examination needed for my employment. When I contacted the practice, I was informed that I would need to submit documentation first, after which they would contact me to arrange a time. I complied with this request, though the process seemed unclear. Subsequently, I received a call stating they could not accommodate me after 5pm and that I would need to take time away from work to attend during their preferred hours. This presents a significant difficulty given my work commitments, as I would need to inform my clients of my unavailability. I pay approximately £90 for these examinations, which typically last around 20 minutes, and the surgery maintains opening hours until 6pm. I attend the practice infrequently, visiting perhaps two or three times annually, and have not previously experienced difficulties. I found the process unhelpful given that this medical is essential for my employment. The requirement to make multiple trips to drop off and collect paperwork, combined with the inflexible appointment availability, means I am unable to proceed with my plans as the medical cannot be completed in time. This situation is frustrating and feels like a considerable inconvenience.
