Inflexible clinic fails patient with bureaucratic nonsense

I'm typically quite content with this medical practice, but today I experienced the most frustrating example of senseless administrative rigidity while attempting to get an urgent prescription renewal. I submitted my request on Friday, and now it's Monday. They coldly informed me they have an unyielding policy of processing prescription requests only after a two-day waiting period. To make matters worse, they gratuitously criticized me, claiming I habitually submit requests at the last minute and for minimal quantities. My motivation for this approach was a conscientious desire to avoid unnecessarily burdening the NHS with premature medication stockpiling.
