I arrived for my Asthma assessment with a nurse, punctually showing up 5 minutes early and checking in with the friendly receptionists. After waiting 25 minutes beyond my scheduled time, and observing only four people, mostly for blood tests with another nurse, I approached reception to inquire about my appointment status. They consulted the nurse, and shortly after, I was called in. My greeting was met with minimal engagement - no eye contact, and I had to seat myself. The nurse asked if I had just finished work, and when I explained I'd been gardening, she remarked that I seemed in a hurry, which caught me off guard. I clarified that while I wasn't rushing, I had limited time and was already 20 minutes past my appointment slot. Her response felt dismissive. When I questioned the 15-minute gap between her patients, she merely confirmed the timing without acknowledging the delay. Her demeanor suggested indifference. Feeling increasingly frustrated, especially having completed the online questionnaire earlier, I decided to reschedule. Her casual "okay" response further confirmed my disappointment. Whether she was having a difficult day or simply didn't care, this experience was far below my expectations, particularly from a surgery I've trusted for 28 years. While the reception staff remain helpful, this interaction, coupled with an already frustrating automated phone system, significantly undermines my confidence in their patient care.
