Long waits left my child distressed and ignored

The practice fell significantly short of expectations. Young patients experienced extended waiting periods regardless of circumstances. My child was visibly distressed throughout the visit, yet this did not appear to prompt any meaningful response from staff. The fact that my child was so unwell they fell asleep in the waiting area was not addressed with appropriate concern. This experience was so unsatisfactory that I felt compelled to lodge a formal complaint, as I believe the standard of care provided to unwell young patients was unacceptable.

Dear Miss Rozier According to our clinical system, on 25.09.25 you arrived at the practice at 11:03 for your daughter’s appointment, which was scheduled for 11:50. Unfortunately, the patient booked before your daughter required a complex consultation that took longer than anticipated. Our records indicate that you left at 12:27 without being seen. We understand how frustrating it can be to wait longer than expected, especially with a child, and we do try to keep patients updated when a doctor is running late. If you would like to discuss this further, please contact the practice to arrange either a telephone call or a face-to-face meeting with me. Kind regards Jess Kaur - Practice Manager.
