Modern practice let down by prescription delays

Update: Really impressed with this GP practice, it feels very modern and I feel fortunate compared to many others across the country. They even offer appointments scheduled days or weeks in advance based on your availability, which is quite different from other practices I've experienced. The overall system appears to run smoothly. (Medication did arrive on time in the end.) ----- Four stars because the practice is newly established, well-designed, modern, and the clinical staff seem competent so far with friendly reception staff. However, there have been some frustrating inefficiencies that have caused unnecessary delays, resulting in my medication arriving approximately a week late after my supply ran out. I contacted the practice over a week ago regarding a prescription issue. The reception team indicated I didn't require an in-person appointment and attempted to reorder it. This didn't resolve the matter, and I subsequently received a call from a clinician explaining that blood work was needed. A message from the practice a week earlier could have clarified this requirement. Now I'm facing a gap in my medication supply. This level of miscommunication didn't occur at my previous practice.
