Nostalgic critique of digital appointment systems

Ah, snagging an appointment these days! It's like you've got some sort of lightning-fast machine at your fingertips. Meanwhile, I'm stuck here with my trusty old clunker, reminiscing about the good ol' times when you'd simply ring up a real person to schedule your visit. Those were the days, weren't they? When a friendly voice on the other end of the line would pencil you in, no digital wizardry required. Now it's all about who can click the fastest, I suppose. Makes you wonder if we've really "progressed" or just traded one set of challenges for another.
