1 star for an absolutely unacceptable appointment system. I contacted the practice to arrange a consultation specifically with a female clinician, only to be informed that the surgery no longer permits advance appointment bookings. Instead, we were instructed to await a text link and complete an online form independently. The form contained extensive questions but offered no facility to request a female clinician or indicate a preferred date. When I spoke with reception staff, I was advised there was no assurance the patient would be seen by a female clinician and no option to book for the required date, as appointments would simply be allocated to the first available practitioner. For a general practice, this absence of flexibility and apparent indifference to legitimate patient preferences is deeply unsatisfactory. Patients ought to be able to request a practitioner they feel at ease with and secure an appointment that accommodates their circumstances, particularly for matters of this significance. We will now be seeking to transfer our registration to a practice that provides a more professional and patient-centred approach.
