Online triage promising, but appointment fell short

I completed the online triage process. I received a prompt phone call from a clinician who came across as attentive and caring. I felt optimistic and reassured ahead of my appointment. I arrived at the scheduled time and was seen quickly. However, I soon realised that the clinician I met in person was not the same individual I had spoken to on the phone. The experience proved to be quite disappointing. The clinician did not introduce themselves. They did not acknowledge that they were a different person from the one who had called me. Their appearance seemed unkempt and did not inspire confidence. The mask they wore made it difficult to read their expressions. Although an examination was performed, I felt I had to work hard to elicit any commentary from them. I received no guidance, reassurance or understanding. The interaction felt impersonal and mechanical.
