Painful mess after heart surgery

After my recent quadruple heart bypass at Liverpool Heart & Chest Hospital, I proactively called ahead to verify my prescription list, specifically for pain medication that would expire by Wednesday. They confirmed the prescription would be ready for collection, but upon arrival, I discovered it was still sitting in the doctor's in-tray. When I alerted the GP practice that my pain medication had already run out, they were completely unhelpful and told me to try again later. Adding to my frustration, the chemist refused to sell me emergency codeine tablets, even though I presented my hospital discharge letter detailing my required medications. Both the GP practice and the chemist displayed a shocking lack of compassion, leaving me in significant pain and completely unsupported after a major surgical procedure. Their callous attitude is unacceptable, and I am determined to escalate this matter and file an official complaint with a higher authority.
