Patient care that turned my day around

#UPDATE- current experience I've had positive interactions since my last review a few months ago. I'll now share today's encounter. I called the medical practice between 08:00 and 08:30. Despite the automated system initially indicating all appointments were booked, I remained persistent. The phone line was congested, and the automated message suggested requesting a callback. I selected that option, and a staff member returned my call shortly after 09:00. Although the day's appointments were fully reserved, the receptionist carefully listened to my concern and arranged for the on-duty doctor to contact me via telephone. Dr Roy called me. He was extremely attentive. I was then offered an in-person consultation. The physician, Dr M (whose full name I unfortunately cannot recall), who examined me, was comprehensive and comforting. I am deeply appreciative of being granted an appointment and receiving such exceptional care today, 03/02/2]25. THANK YOU #PREVIOUS The manner in which I was dismissed, denied the opportunity to explain my purpose for calling by the receptionist on this occasion and multiple previous attempts is completely unacceptable and demoralizing. Managing a chronic illness is incredibly difficult. Experiencing anxiety about potential treatment when needing to contact one's medical practice is emotionally exhausting. I would prefer to avoid contacting the GP's surgery altogether. Essentially, no one wants to feel like an inconvenience. Regrettably, living with an inherited chronic condition makes such a desire impossible. I sincerely hope that medical receptionists would become more empathetic and patient, recognizing that the caller might have endured an extremely challenging night or day. Thank you
