Phone queue delays left patient without timely care

I am writing this review on behalf of my partner, who has chosen not to complain directly, to share our experience with this practice. On a recent date, my partner contacted the surgery after experiencing what he believed to be an allergic reaction to insect bites. Following an extended wait of approximately an hour and a half to reach someone, he was informed that a clinician would call him back after providing his symptoms to reception staff. However, several days passed without any contact from the practice. During this period, the swelling on the right side of his face increased significantly, causing his eye to close, whilst he remained at work. The pain became increasingly severe, and he eventually visited a pharmacist for pain relief. The pharmacist identified the issue as shingles and advised him to seek urgent GP care. Since the out-of-hours service was not available until later that evening, he attended the accident and emergency department, where he was seen relatively promptly and received the antibiotics he required. A single callback from the practice would likely have prevented the need for this hospital visit, yet no contact, follow-up, or acknowledgement was ever received. This experience has been deeply disappointing.
