Phone queue turned away without checking details

I have been a patient at this practice for many years. When I telephoned early this morning, I was informed that there were no available appointments as several clinicians were absent, and I was directed to use the online booking system for any slots that might be open. The receptionist did not ask which practice I was calling from before providing this information, which seemed odd given the circumstances. The standard of care at this practice appears to have declined significantly from what it once was. It is now extremely difficult to secure an appointment, even when calling at the start of the day. The practice has suggested alternative options such as walk-in centres or NHS 111, which I found frustrating given my long history as a patient here.
