Physio dismissed my support during appointment

I attended a physiotherapy appointment with my husband today following his ongoing back pain, as he was unable to secure a GP appointment at that time. Given that he hadn't visited a healthcare provider in a decade, he felt anxious about the appointment. He also experiences difficulty expressing himself verbally and requested my presence to help communicate certain points on his behalf. During the consultation, when I began to contribute to the discussion, I was asked to be quiet using a dismissive hand gesture. I found this response upsetting and felt it was inappropriate, as I believed I was entitled to provide support and speak on his behalf during the appointment. The clinician had not taken time to understand my husband's communication needs before making this request. I remained silent for the remainder of the appointment. At the conclusion, the clinician asked if I had anything further to add, which felt contradictory given the earlier interaction. I felt the manner in which this was handled was disrespectful and lacked consideration for my husband's circumstances.
