Practice failed to support dying patient adequately

Felt let down by the level of support provided to a patient with a serious illness. The care seemed inadequate when it should have been comprehensive. A patient struggled for an extended period without clear guidance on available support options and had to source their own pain management solutions independently. There were concerns about access to prescribed nutritional support when swallowing became difficult, despite understanding that similar provisions are available elsewhere. The overall experience felt dismissive and lacking in compassion. The patient questioned whether age may have influenced the level of consideration shown. This was a deeply disappointing situation.
