Prescription delay leaves patient frustrated and angry

I submitted my prescription request on Monday, and as of Thursday, it remains unprocessed. When I inquired, I was informed that the doctor hasn't even reviewed it yet. This is completely unacceptable. Two different receptionists have now assured me they will forward the request to the doctor. If that's the case, why wasn't it done when I initially submitted it? Having worked in a medical practice myself, I know we would never allow a prescription request to languish this long. I am extremely frustrated, and it takes a lot to provoke me to this level of anger.
