Promises support then makes you feel like a nuisance

Inconsistent and unpredictable service quality. The experience shifts rapidly from feeling heard and supported to sensing that concerns are not being properly acknowledged or acted upon. Reviewing a patient's record showing numerous appointments within a short timeframe raises questions about the effectiveness of the care pathway. A referral made at the initial consultation could have prevented the need for multiple follow-up visits to obtain the same outcome, sparing considerable ongoing distress. Initially, there was a sense of being listened to, but over time this changed to feeling like a burden to the practice. The facility itself is well-maintained and most staff members are conscientious in their roles, yet there appears to be a gap between professional competence and genuine empathetic engagement. Those with neurodivergent traits or chronic health conditions may find the support offered falls short of their needs. Patients with ongoing health issues face difficult choices: invest significant emotional and financial energy advocating for basic support within the practice, or pursue private healthcare at considerable expense, which may offer little meaningful difference. Either path requires substantial personal sacrifice.
