Quick jab denied just days before birthday

On 16th February 2025, I received a text from "NHS vaccine" asking me to schedule a respiratory syncytial virus (RSV) vaccine appointment. I contacted Eastbury Surgery in Northwood Middlesex and was given an appointment for 4th March 2025. Upon arrival, the nurse informed me she would not administer the vaccine because I had not yet reached 75 years old. I pointed out that I would turn 75 in just three days (born 7th March 1950) and suggested it would be logical to vaccinate me immediately. Despite my reasoning, she declined and instructed me to return next week after my birthday. The bureaucratic absurdity seems straight out of a Kafka novel. This medical practice should develop more flexible protocols to avoid such nonsensical scenarios. Surely, in these circumstances, a bit of professional judgment and common sense would be beneficial?
