Reception blocked access to proper follow-up care

Following discharge from hospital, I was advised to attend a follow-up appointment for post-operative care. Unfortunately, the surgery failed to attend this appointment as scheduled. When I contacted them to rearrange, I was told to book a slot for the following week. Upon calling back to secure an appointment, I was directed to attend a walk-in centre instead, as they claimed to have no availability. However, I was not informed that the walk-in centres I visited were actually closed at that time. Given that I was recovering from a significant procedure, this experience was frustrating. I felt the administrative staff were unhelpful in resolving the situation. I am grateful to the hospital for stepping in and providing the care that should have been coordinated by the surgery.
