Reception lacks privacy and feels unwelcoming

The reception area layout presents a significant privacy concern. Currently, every patient checking in can be clearly heard throughout the waiting room, which feels uncomfortable. I considered leaving due to this lack of confidentiality. After waiting for some time, I realised I didn't require urgent care and simply wanted to discuss something with my healthcare provider, so I asked if they could be informed of my presence. The receptionist responded curtly with a refusal, insisting I wait, and their manner felt dismissive and impersonal when dealing with multiple enquiries. It's worth noting that while this may be routine for reception staff, each patient interaction is their first point of contact and deserves appropriate consideration. The current setup is unsatisfactory and would benefit from either relocating the reception area or implementing soundproofing and privacy screening. On a positive note, the actual clinical care provided during previous visits has been satisfactory once appointments are reached.
