Reception staff cancelled appointment while patient waited inside

Most times there's a wait of around 10 minutes before being seen, yet arriving a couple of minutes late results in immediate cancellation. I made a considerable effort to get to my appointment, arriving out of breath after a lengthy journey, and waited respectfully while the receptionist completed a phone call. Another receptionist appeared to be occupied elsewhere. After waiting several minutes for attention, I received a text notification that my appointment had been cancelled despite already being present in the waiting area. With no other patients there, I felt frustrated and considered responding to the situation, though the receptionists offered explanations attributing responsibility to me. I chose to leave without further discussion. Given my own experience working within the NHS and understanding the importance of demonstrating care and compassion toward patients, I found the reception experience fell significantly short of these standards. This was disappointing.
