Reception staff ignored me at check-in

The receptionist's manner was quite unwelcoming. I don't visit the surgery regularly, so I wasn't familiar with the self-check-in process for appointments. While I was waiting, a couple of staff members seemed to overlook me while conversing with each other, and I was eventually approached with a rather blunt question about my reason for being there. I explained I had an appointment scheduled for 11am. They asked who the appointment was with, and I mentioned it was with a member of the clinical team, though I wasn't certain of their name. After providing my name, I was directed to take a seat. It's often said that young people lack courtesy, but I felt the reception staff could have demonstrated more politeness and consideration. Since I don't attend the surgery frequently and am unfamiliar with the layout, a bit more warmth and helpfulness would have made a real difference to my experience.
