Reception turned away mental health concerns without empathy

I attended an appointment today while experiencing significant emotional distress and a history of mental health concerns. Although I came in to discuss a respiratory infection, I also felt it was important to raise mental health matters during the visit. I was informed that these concerns could not be addressed in the current appointment and that I would need to schedule a separate session to discuss them further. I found this response deeply disappointing and felt a lack of compassion in how my situation was handled. I was troubled by the suggestion that I should leave without having the opportunity to discuss my wellbeing, particularly given my vulnerable state at that time. I felt the approach taken fell short of the care and understanding I would have expected to receive. The overall experience has left me feeling let down by the level of support offered during what was a difficult moment.
