Receptionist blocked access to mental health support

My sister has been attempting to access her GP for three months. However, she has encountered significant difficulties with the appointment booking process. She has requested her mental health medication but has been repeatedly informed that she must see the doctor first, yet no appointments appear to be available or the practice is not currently accepting new consultations. Given the ongoing discussions about mental health support and suicide prevention, it is concerning that accessing care has proven so challenging. I am worried about her wellbeing, and I feel the reception staff could have been more supportive in helping her navigate the system.
