Receptionist cancelled appointment without proper follow-up

I have been attending this practice since childhood and have generally been satisfied with my care over the years. However, my recent experience has been disappointing. Approximately three weeks ago, I requested an appointment and informed the receptionist of potential urinary symptoms. Due to a communication issue with my phone when the practice attempted to contact me, my appointment was cancelled. I was advised that the next available slot would not be until late June. I subsequently contacted NHS 111, and a clinician provided me with antibiotics. A week later, a similar situation occurred and the practice issued a repeat prescription for antibiotics. Unfortunately, these did not resolve my symptoms. The following Thursday, I experienced severe pain during the night and attended the accident and emergency department, where I was diagnosed with a kidney stone and remained there for several hours. I feel that had I been able to see a clinician in person at my initial appointment, a more thorough assessment could have been conducted and my condition might have been identified earlier. Overall, I was very dissatisfied with the care I received during this period.
