Receptionist dismissive until I explained my symptoms

Called the practice this morning to request an appointment. The receptionist came across as quite dismissive, immediately suggesting I visit the pharmacist instead without first enquiring about my concerns. When I explained that I was experiencing breathing difficulties and suspected a respiratory infection, requiring medical assessment and potential prescription medication, an appointment suddenly became available. I found her manner to be inappropriate and unhelpful. It sometimes feels as though staff may overestimate their role in the appointment process.
